Job summary

Interaction Recruitment represents a specialist metalwork and fabrication business based in Baldock, Hertfordshire, seeking a Purchasing & Production Coordinator. The role focuses on processing quotations, loading works orders, ordering materials and coordinating supplier deliveries to keep production running smoothly.

The successful candidate will have experience in purchasing or production coordination within manufacturing, strong IT skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, production coordination or similar role.
• Good IT skills and confidence using computerised systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate information in the MIE Trak ERP/MRP system.
• Process customer quotations and load works orders for production.
• Raise and manage purchase orders for materials and subcontracted services.
• Coordinate ordering of materials for current and upcoming jobs.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and supplier deliveries.
• Liaise with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and chase orders.
• Identify potential shortages and delays that could affect production.
• Update purchase orders with changes in quantities, prices or dates.
• Support production, purchasing, estimating and management with timely information.
