Job summary

The Planning Manager will lead production planning to optimize material flow, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery, while guiding a team of planners and driving continuous process improvements.

Based in Romsey, the role requires a strong background in planning, ERP/MRP, and collaboration across functions to meet customer demand and capacity constraints.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years experience in production planning or supply chain within manufacturing.
• Strong ERP/MRP knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production planning and scheduling activities to align with customer demand and factory capacity.
• Ensure feasible production plans considering material availability, capacity constraints, and priorities.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, logistics, and engineering to resolve supply or capacity gaps.
• Monitor WIP levels and manage order release to maintain stable flow.
• Lead, coach, and develop production planners to achieve performance and development objectives.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and workload balancing within the planning team.
• Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
• Track and drive improvement of key planning KPIs such as: Production plan adherence / attainment, On-time delivery, Schedule stability, Inventory and WIP levels, Backlog management.
• Conduct regular reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Standardize planning processes, parameters, and master data governance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on flow, lead time reduction, and predictability.
• Support digitalization and system enhancements related to planning tools and ERP.
• Provide clear planning outlook and risk visibility to management.
• Escalate material shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery risks with mitigation proposals.
• Support S&OP / IBP processes with planning inputs.
