Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Planning Supervisor to lead its production planning function, ensuring optimal material flow, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate demand, supply, and capacity while supervising planners and driving continuous improvement.

Based in Romsey, this role partners with purchasing, production, logistics and engineering to resolve capacity gaps, monitor WIP, and maintain stable flow, with a focus on accountability and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years experience in production planning or supply chain within manufacturing.
• Strong ERP/MRP knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability.

Responsibilities

• Plan execution and coordination to align with demand and capacity.
• Lead production planners and manage workload and performance.

Job Summary

The Planning Supervisor is responsible for leading the production planning function to ensure optimal material flow, production schedule adherence, and on-time delivery. This role coordinates demand, supply, and capacity planning while supervising planners and driving continuous improvement of planning processes and KPIs

Key responsibilities

Planning execution & coordination

• Supervise daily production planning and scheduling activities to align with customer demand and factory capacity
• Ensure feasible production plans considering material availability, capacity constraints, and priorities
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, logistics, and engineering to resolve supply or capacity gaps
• Monitor WIP levels and manage order release to maintain stable flow

Team leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop production planners to achieve performance and development objectives
• Define roles, responsibilities, and workload balancing within the planning team
• Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team environment

Performance management

Track and drive improvement of key planning KPIs such as:

• Production plan adherence / attainment
• On-time delivery
• Schedule stability
• Inventory and WIP levels
• Backlog management
• Conduct regular reviews and implement corrective actions

Process improvement

• Standardize planning processes, parameters, and master data governance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on flow, lead time reduction, and predictability
• Support digitalization and system enhancements related to planning tools and ERP

Communication & escalation

• Provide clear planning outlook and risk visibility to management
• Escalate material shortages, capacity constraints, and delivery risks with mitigation proposals
• Support S&OP / IBP processes with planning inputs
