Job description

Production Planning Engineer

Tiverton, Devon, EX16

£27,000 - £28,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm - working 35hrs per week

Hybrid working available after probation.

The Role

To plan and schedule jobs aligned to customer orders and quotations. Provide delivery and lead time information. Ensuring plans meet the requirements of the customer and are planned without errors.

What you will be doing:

  1. Planning of systems/products onto machine centres for production.
  2. Identifying correct routes of manufacture and creating stock codes, including structure and routings, machining times etc., to fulfil sales order requirements.
  3. Creation of engineering drawings to assist manufacture when the need arises.
  4. Identifying tooling to be purchased for manufacture.
  5. Liaising with the Sales Team and other internal departments to progress jobs, resolve queries or provide updates on lead times.

What experience will you need:
  1. Previous experience working in a planning office would be beneficial, although full training would be given to the right candidate.
  2. The ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings is a must.
  3. Could suit an apprentice or 'hands on' engineer who understands methods of manufacture and CAD.
  4. Experience in the use of AutoCAD/DraftSight/SolidWorks to design or annotate drawings.
  5. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Syspro/ERP systems.
  6. Good attention to detail.
  7. Ability to understand Engineering drawings and processes.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Good time management skills.
