The role
As a Production Planning and Delivery Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will join a diverse and energetic team of production, project, engineering, and other functional staff working together to deliver cutting-edge defence projects to UK and international clients.

The successful candidate will ensure efficient and timely delivery of products, maintain operational governance, adhere to budgets, and optimise production processes to meet customer demands and business objectives. This role also involves leading a team of scheduling and production control personnel, collaborating with project managers and operational leads, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Significant customer-facing responsibilities are included to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee:

  • Delivery Management: Oversee the entire delivery process, ensuring products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Facility Control: Implement and maintain control procedures to ensure the facility operates and flows as required to meet deadlines.
  • Operational Governance: Hold regular meetings to ensure operational governance, holding the operation to account.
  • Process Optimisation: Identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity. Support and sponsor process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and facilitating successful implementation by relevant teams.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of materials and products, ensuring timely product launches.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with project teams to ensure customer requirements are met and any issues are resolved promptly. Function as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery and control matters.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Ashton House.

Essential experience of the Production Planning and Delivery Manager

  • Proven experience in planning, delivery, and control management within a manufacturing environment, along with strong knowledge of production facility planning, control, and governance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team and engage with various external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
