Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking a proactive Production Planner / Buyer in Milton Keynes. The role focuses on owning production planning, material purchasing and supplier management to ensure timely customer deliveries.

Key tasks include purchasing sheet metal and consumables, coordinating subcontract processes, and expediting materials to prevent delays. Experience in sheet metalwork or subcontract manufacturing is preferred, with ERP/MRP and Excel skills highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning and purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand material and component requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing sheet metal, components, fixings and consumables to meet production requirements while controlling costs and stock levels.
• Coordinate subcontract processes including machining, plating and finishing operations.
• Expedite materials and subcontract work to keep production on schedule and meet delivery dates.
• Work with Production, Sales, Engineering and suppliers to maintain accurate schedules and reliable delivery information.
