Job Description

We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join our Planning team at our growing Harworth site. As a Production Planner, you will deliver the agile and innovative expertise needed by our customers, whilst protecting their brands.

Job Responsibilities of a Production Planner
  • Ensure the business maintains safe ways of working.
  • Report any issues that compromise an individual or the business.
  • Primary contact for the factory regarding the production plan.
  • Coordinate the provision of all materials and production staff to deliver the daily production plan.
  • Coordinate with the production and planning manager on plan changes due to breakdowns or material issues.
  • Re-align plan to match any plan changes.
  • Create daily and weekly production schedules within our Operations & Planning system Vision.
  • Create production line work orders within our Operations & Planning system Vision.
  • Work closely with operations daily to ensure targets and deadlines are met & priorities are advised.
  • Escalate operational issues to the Site General Manager.
  • Manage plans considering material availability on a push/pull basis.
  • Assign stock to work orders.
  • Utilize and promote the use of the Vision System to streamline processes and communicate effectively.
  • Request concessions for out-of-date stock.
  • Administer material data through IPS and customer systems.
  • Optimize the production plan for profit, considering running hours and managing changes within a two-week window.
  • Amend work order BOMs where needed. Provide holiday cover and book outbound vehicles for timely dispatch.

  • Adaptable — accepting change and preparing for the unexpected through planning and contingency considerations.
  • Demonstrating integrity and honesty with no hidden agendas, reliable in delivering promises, and showing discretion.
  • Collaborative — working with others to support and encourage, and understanding different viewpoints.
  • Good IT skills, with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience in planning.
  • Knowledge of company procedures and compliance.
