Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the manufacturing planning within the company. The goal is to ensure that production runs efficiently and meets the customer demand while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Creates manufacturing orders
  • Ensures raw material is available as schedules are created
  • Establishes manufacturing schedule prioritizing work to assure customer orders are delivered on time
  • Works with Operations Manager to schedule production orders for maximum machine utilization
  • Monitors current part inventory, updates production daily
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide info on changes in processing methods received from quality or engineering departments
  • Develops inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis
  • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels
  • Coordinates with purchasing and manufacturing to meet customer requirements
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence
  • Other duties as assigned
