Job summary

Samworth Brothers is seeking a Production Planner to help the site run smoothly by ensuring daily and weekly production plans, materials and stock are aligned with demand. You’ll work with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to keep plans aligned and to update forecasts as needed.

You will monitor performance, spot risks early and maintain accurate planning data to support cost control and on-time delivery across our food manufacturing sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience in production planning, supply chain or operations.
  • Confident with data, planning systems and Excel.
  • Understanding of production in a Food manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in adapting to changes, solving problems and decision making quickly.
  • Calm, organised and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily and weekly production plans so the factory knows what to make and when.
  • Ensure materials and stock are available for each production run.
  • Keep stock at the right levels—not too high and not too low.
  • Process and update customer orders with clear, accurate information.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain and Commercial teams to align plans.
  • Update forecasts and planning information to reflect changes in demand.
  • Spot risks early and escalate when needed.
  • Monitor production performance versus plan and update systems with live information.
  • Support meetings by sharing clear updates on stock, service and performance.
  • Keep all planning data and systems accurate and up to date.

As a Production Planner, you will help the site run smoothly every day. You’ll make sure the right products are planned at the right time, using accurate information, clear schedules and strong communication. Your work will help the business meet customer demand while controlling waste, stock and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create daily and weekly production plans so the factory knows what to make and when.
  • Make sure materials and stock are available for each production run.
  • Keep stock at the right levels — not too high and not too low.Process and update customer orders, making sure information is clear and accurate.
  • Work with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain, Commercial and other teams to keep plans aligned.
  • Update forecasts and planning information to reflect changes in demand.Spot risks early — such as shortages, delays or bottlenecks — and escalation when needed.
  • Monitor production performance versus plan and update systems with live information.
  • Support meetings by sharing clear updates on stock, service and performance.
  • Keep all planning data and systems accurate and up to date.
About You
  • You will have experience in production planning, supply chain or operations.
  • Bringing confidence working with data, planning systems and Excel.
  • With a good understanding of how production works in a Food manufacturing setting.
  • Showing experience of managing changes to plans, solving problems and making decisions at pace.
  • You will demonstrate that you are calm, organised and have a proactive approach.
