What will you be doing?

The Production Planner will develop and maintain a rolling 12-week production schedule in line customer demand & forecasted sales. You will support production operations whilst ensuring a high level of service is delivered to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key objectives in your role as Production Planner include:

  • Creating and maintaining the demand plan (short- to mid-term), with consideration for operational requirements.
  • Delivering the production plan in line with customer demand.
  • Planning output material and labour to meet demand on a rolling schedule.
  • Working with the procurement team to check provisions are made for materials in line with pre-determined stock deliveries, proactively raising any issue or variances.
  • Working with Front Line Managers, ensuring on-time delivery of orders whilst considering manning capacity and performance adherence.
  • Creating and issuing weekly ‘Work-to-Lists’ to all areas of production, ensuring any changes have been updated, communicated and documented.
  • Updating and maintaining reporting tools and planning models on a daily / weekly / monthly basis.
  • Escalating service level and performance issues/variances in a timely manner.
  • Chairing weekly meetings with key operations stakeholders.
  • Creating and improving methods of working to maximise leaner ways of scheduling.
  • Proactively initiating and driving scheduling restraints/opportunities to your line manager.
  • Working closely with the Inventory Controller & Warehouse Supervisor to ensure stock accuracy and that controls are adhered to.
  • Consistent and effective communication with key business stakeholders to achieve the manufacturing plan.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties, as reasonably requested.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to the Company’s compliance obligations, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Report compliance concerns, issues, and failures.
  • Participate in training as required.

What do you need?

You should:

  • Have previous experience in production planning and scheduling.
  • Have strong Excel, MS Office, and reporting skills. Experience using SAP would be advantageous.
  • An ability to manage and interpret data quickly to ensure accuracy.
  • Be a result-orientated individual who is effective working under pressure, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Possess excellent time management and organisational skills, being able to effectively prioritise workloads.
