This is a first-class Manufacturing Planner position; this role will be office based in Immingham!

Monday to Friday working hours, office based in Immingham.

33 days holiday leave, inclusive of bank holidays.

THE BUSINESS

Our client specialises within the Agricultural sector, they are a true market leader within their niche. They seek to appoint a Manufacturing Planner on a permanent basis from day one. The purpose of the role is to develop, maintain, and monitor production and material schedules that align with customer demand, inventory policies, and manufacturing capacity. The planner plays a critical role in coordinating production activities and ensuring smooth supply chain execution.

THE ROLE

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and stock targets.
  • Translate the MPS into detailed production and material plans.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure material availability and production readiness.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and report on variances or bottlenecks.
  • Update plans in response to demand changes, machine breakdowns, labour shortages, or material delays.
  • Analyse capacity vs. demand and propose shifts, overtime, or subcontracting when needed.
  • Track on-time delivery performance and implement actions to close any gaps.
  • Manage S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) with up-to-date planning data.
  • Create and maintain planning parameters (lead times, reorder levels, safety stocks).
  • Prepare regular reports and KPIs for planning performance.

THE PERSON

  • Experience in production planning, materials planning, or supply chain coordination (typically 2–5 years).
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Driving licence is fairly essential due to the location of site.
  • Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proficient in Excel and other planning tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, inventory management, and capacity planning principles.
