Job summary

Thorn Baker Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Production Planner for their client's operations in Ilkeston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and scheduling production workloads while ensuring stock availability and effective communication with teams. Ideal applicants will have previous planning experience, be highly organized, and proficient in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of SAP being advantageous.   • Experience using SAP or similar systems is a bonus.

Job description

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to join our client's manufacturing team based in Ilkeston. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a varied and fast-paced planning role within a well-established operation, with the potential to go temp to perm based on performance.

Hours: 7:00 - 15:30 Monday - Friday
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Contract: Temporary with the potential to become permanent based on performance

Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and plan workloads across production lines
- Monitor stock availability and place orders where required
- Liaise daily with team leaders, operations, and commercial teams
- Maintain and update reports and trackers, including production reports and stock forecasting
- Manage PPE and consumables ordering across multiple suppliers
- Support the leadership team with data entry, reporting, and communication
- Attend internal meetings and maintain accurate records including holiday and H&S logs
- Complete monthly stock takes

About You:
- Previous experience in planning or workload scheduling
- Highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- Confident communicator - both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Experience using SAP or similar systems is a bonus
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
