Job description

Role: Production Planner
Location: Fareham
Salary: 35,000 to 38,000 per annum

We are looking for Production Planning to join a fantastic team, this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in apparel production planning, purchasing, or supply chain coordination, particularly within performance wear, sportswear, or technical products. You'll play a central role in keeping products flowing efficiently from suppliers to customers - balancing inventory, managing supplier relationships, and supporting commercial growth.

Job Purpose
As a Production Planner you'll be responsible for overseeing the full planning and procurement cycle - from raising POs with international factories to coordinating inbound logistics and maintaining accurate systems. Working cross-functionally with product development, logistics, and warehouse teams, you'll ensure stock availability aligns with seasonal demand without over-ordering or delays.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage inventory across a varied product range
Raise and track purchase orders with overseas manufacturing partners
Monitor supply timelines, forecast demand, and support seasonal planning
Coordinate freight and logistics for timely inbound deliveries
Resolve delivery or quality issues through effective supplier communication
Maintain accurate system data and support internal reporting improvements
Assist with product lifecycle decisions including reorders, phase-outs, and clearance

Technical Competency
Experience of Production Planning or similar
Experience in a planning, buying, or supply chain role (preferably apparel or technical products)
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with experience managing overseas suppliers
Comfortable using spreadsheets, forecasting tools, and ERP systems
Commercially aware, proactive, and solution-oriented
Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
