A leading manufacturing company in Brough is seeking a Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will develop schedules, manage inventory levels, and collaborate with various departments to ensure timely product delivery. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and experience in production planning. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and various company benefits.
As a Production Planner you will be responsible for organising production according to demand and quality standards. This role involves ensuring that production schedules are met and that products are delivered on time, coordination with various departments to manage inventory levels, forecast production needs, and allocate resources effectively.
Production Scheduling
Develop and maintain production schedules, considering customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity. Adjust schedules as needed to address production delays or changes in demand.
Liaise cross functionally with all areas of Operations as required to maintain an accurate Production Plan.
Liaise directly with the Engineering team to feedback any changes to the Production Plan that may impact customer delivery. Publishes customer open order book schedules as requested.
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels of materials to ensure that production runs smoothly.
Provide updates and recommendations to relevant business leaders on safety stock levels, resource requirements, schedule amendments as appropriate.
Purchasing
Raise orders in the most effective manner available.
Employ both Standard PO’s along with Blanket orders as required, utilising the MRP system.
Evaluate quickly and effectively between ordering to MOQ against purchase price variance whilst attempting to minimise inventory yet obtaining goods at the lowest cost point.
Resource Allocation
Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to allocate resources efficiently.
Action customer Defer & Expedite requests, where possible.
Release production work orders to manufacturing.
Demand Forecasting
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to forecast future production needs based on sales trends, market analysis, and customer orders.
Cost Control
Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality.
Reporting
Prepare regular reports on production performance, including output rates, inventory levels, and resource utilisation. Present findings to management and suggest improvements.
Maintain and update Factory Mater data to ensure current accurate information is available to the wider business.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing production efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing resource utilization.
Full Time Position, 37.5 Hours per week
Monday - Thursday 8-4.30, Friday 8-1.30
