Job summary

Biffa is hiring a Production Operator at our Horsham site to support 24/7 operations at the MBT facility. You will monitor the process plant, perform housekeeping, and assist with basic maintenance in line with SOPs and safety rules.

The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and offers career development opportunities within West Sussex. 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday with early/late shifts and one Saturday in four.

Qualifications

• Health and safety awareness is essential.
• Customer service skills are important for site interactions.
• Good organisation helps manage daily tasks and SOPs.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and safely.
• Capable of working without direct supervision.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Daily monitoring of the process plant and reporting abnormalities.
• Carry out housekeeping across site areas as required.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on fixed process plant.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for tasks.
• Regularly inspect site infrastructure for safety and efficiency.
• Maintain safety for self and others and report issues.
• Attend site safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Keep housekeeping at a high standard per policy.
• Take on any other job-related tasks as directed.
