Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking Factory Operatives to join a fast-paced, high-volume production environment in the Houghton le Spring area. This permanent role involves unloading and loading machinery, visual quality checks, and basic assembly tasks.

You will work a two-shift system (6:30am-2:30pm and 2:30pm-10:30pm) with paid 10 minutes pre-shift on-floor time, and overtime rates including time-and-a-half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.

Qualifications

• Able to work on feet for 8 hours a day and physically fit to undertake machine loading and unloading duties
• Target orientated
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to use basic air powered tools preferred, although training can be given
• Due to shift unsuitability, own transport could be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading machinery
• Quality checking parts via visual inspections
• Using air guns to complete basic assembly tasks
• Loading parts onto jigs and undertaking basic machine checks
• Working towards targets based on output and quality
