Job description

Production Operator

  • Location: Reading, RG30
  • Job Type: 3-month Contract initially
  • Working Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern (11am to 11:15pm or 11pm to 11:15am)
  • Pay: £13.34 per Hour

As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in our innovative automated production system, contributing significantly to our production targets and overall success.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Operate and monitor the automated production system to ensure smooth functioning and achievement of production KPIs.
  • Handle lightweight and small objects with precision and care.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail to manage the production equipment through both computer-controlled interfaces and manual controls.
  • Work in a hot and humid environment as required for the growth and storage of live insects.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential Experience:
    • Prior experience in a fast-paced automated production environment.
    • Proficient in controlling production equipment through computer interfaces and manual controls.
    • Comfortable working with live flies and in conditions required for their growth.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • Background in environments with strict hygiene or regulatory requirements (e.g., food, cosmetics, or medical sectors).
    • Experience creating work instructions and documenting automation processes.
    • Familiarity with automated production line control and maintenance.
    • Previous experience in a startup environment is advantageous.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High energy, ambition, and commitment to complete tasks.
