Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled CNC Operator for a Preston-based manufacturer. Immediate start, on-site, with 07:00–15:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:00–13:00 Friday.

You will set and operate CNC machines, manage materials, operate FLT where required, assist with manual machining and quality checks, and support the production team in a fast-paced environment. A sharp eye for detail and good communication are essential; a valid UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machines.
• Manage materials: trim, measure and handle with accuracy; ensure stock control.
• Operate Forklift Trucks (FLT) as needed; training provided for suitable candidates.
• Perform manual machining using circular and band saws, sanders, routers and guillotines.
• Carry out quality control measurements and inspections to ensure product quality.
• Use PC-based production management terminals to monitor schedules and progress.
• Support joinery tasks and assist the wider team as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.

Working Hours are 07:00am - 15:30pm (Monday - Thursday) and 07:00am - 13:00pm (Friday) | £13.67 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Setting, and Operating CNC machines

Material Management: Trim, measure, and handle materials with accuracy; ensure proper stock management.

FLT Operation: Operate Forklift Trucks (FLT) - training provided for the right candidate.

Manual Machining: Use additional machinery, including Circular and Band Saws, Sanders, Routers, and Guillotines.

Quality Control: Perform detailed measurements and inspections to maintain product quality.

PC-based Production Management: Use computer terminals to manage production schedules and monitor progress.

Team Support: Provide assistance with joinery work and support the wider team when necessary.

Housekeeping: Ensure a clean and organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
