Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Production Operator to work for one of our clients based in Portsmouth, UK. You will require 'Right to Work' in UK, unfortunately no sponsorship will be available for this role.

The Spacecraft Production Operator plays a critical role in the assembly, integration, and testing of advanced spacecraft payloads and active antennas. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who thrives in a high-precision, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety First: Adheres to strict health and safety protocols, including the safe handling of hazardous materials in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  2. Assembly & Integration: Performs mechanical and electrical integration of spacecraft components, including payload equipment, coaxial cables, waveguides, thermocouples, heater circuits, accelerometers, DC harnesses, and structural elements.
  3. Technical Interpretation: Reads and interprets complex technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and 2D/3D general assembly drawings.
  4. Testing & Validation: Conducts automated and manual RF/electrical tests using advanced Payload Test Systems. Reviews performance data and identifies non-conformances.
Workplace Excellence
  • Maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization through 5S practices, tool control, and process confirmation.
  • Actively contributes to team performance initiatives, including Kaizen and SQCDP activities.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Demonstrated experience in a production environment focused on mechanical assembly or electrical/RF testing. HNC or HND in Engineering (Production or Maintenance). Completed apprenticeship in Aerospace, Space, or a similarly high-precision industry.
