Job summary

Richardson International's Crisp Malt site in Great Ryburgh is seeking a Production Operator to support our malt production team. This shift-based role involves rotating days and nights and following strict process and safety protocols.

The position offers a 4 on 4 off pattern, with shifts from 06:00–18:00 and 18:00–06:00, and a salary of up to £38,000, depending on experience and qualifications. On-site parking and a pension scheme are available.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment to support production, ensuring timely completion of the production schedule.
• Follow Safe Systems of Work and PPE requirements; report faults promptly.
• Maintain plant hygiene and complete cleaning documentation as required.
• Take routine samples and document moisture content to ensure product quality.
• Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality malted ingredients safely and efficiently.

We currently have

an opportunity for a Production Operator at our Crisp Malt, Great Ryburgh location. Offering a salary of up to £38,000 (£17.40 per hour) inclusive of shift premium, subject to experience and qualifications.

Primary objective:

The role of the production operator is to support the wider production team in producing quality malted ingredients. This is a shift based role working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, rotating days and nights between the hours of 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00 nights.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Health & Safety, following Safe Systems of Work, training and wearing of correct PPE as required.
• Operation of plant equipment to optimum levels of performance to deliver the production schedule. Operation of plant and equipment to transfer grain between production stages, Steeping, Germination and Kilning. Ensure that Production Process cards are followed as per recipe and document process data.
• Work closely with the engineering department to report faults and the timely repair to minimise production stoppages, operation of the companies maintenance reporting systems to log faults.
• Carry out daily and routine sampling, including visual inspection and moisture content analysis of grain at each stage of the process and to accurately document. Take actions as required to maintain product quality.
• Plant hygiene is maintained to meet food safety and company standards. Carry out day to day cleaning duties associated with the role such as sweeping and pressure washing. Ensure that cleaning documents are completed as required.
• Work as a member of the team to ensure production department deliver high quality products, safely and efficiently.
• Training to be undertaken as required to fulfil the role as identified by the business. Development to be multi skilled across the various areas of production, ensuring business contingency at all times.
• Carry out reasonable requests within your capability.
