Job summary

A leading diagnostics company in Crumlin is seeking a full-time Production Operator to join their Biochip team. You will be responsible for calibrating and maintaining equipment, operating production lines, and ensuring high quality standards in Biochip manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a GCSE education or relevant experience, be physically capable, and possess strong Computer and Health Safety knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Be qualified to GCSE level or have previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Be physically able to work on your feet all day.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Computer literate and confidence in the use and application of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, including CoSHH.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to work different shift patterns.
  • Hold a full driving licence, as the site is quite remote.

Responsibilities

  • Calibration and maintenance of equipment.
  • Operation and troubleshooting of automated production lines.
  • Accurate completion of manufacturing and stock records.
  • Completion and recording of manufacturing outputs for KPIs.
  • Cleaning down machines and work area.
  • Monitoring of the cleanroom environment.
  • Assisting in training of staff.
  • Alerting Team Leader to problems.
  • Identifying and removing rejected biochips.
  • High quality sealing and accurate labelling.

Overview

Production Operator (Job Ref: 25N/PRBH). Randox Laboratories continues to develop disruptive innovations in Diagnostics and Healthcare globally. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and achieve. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Production Operator within our biochip team.

What does our Biochip team do? Our Biochip team manufactures products for use across our Biochip Array Technology Analysers including Evidence, Investigator, MultiStat and Evolution. Our cutting-edge technology is used in Laboratories and Hospitals to diagnose health tests as wells as veterinary samples, and food testing.

Location: 44 Largy Road, Crumlin, BT29 4RN. Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent. Some temporary roles are also available. Working Hours / Shifts: Hours can vary depending on what team you work in. Standard hours are 7am to 5.40pm, 4 days per week. However, night shifts may also be required.

Responsibilities
  • Calibration and maintenance of equipment
  • The operation and troubleshooting of automated production lines involved in the assembly of instrument specific Biochip Array products.
  • The accurate completion of manufacturing and stock records.
  • Completion and recording of manufacturing outputs for KPIs
  • The cleaning down of machines and the work area in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitoring of the cleanroom environment to process defined specifications
  • Assisting in the training of staff in departmental procedures and systems.
  • The alerting of the Biochip formulation Team Leader and Manager to any problems in the manufacture or testing of Biochip products and highlighting any non-conformances
  • Accurate identification and removal of rejected biochips during assembly process
  • High quality sealing and accurate labelling of Biochip Array products
