We’re working with a leading manufacturer based in Cramlington and are looking forProduction Operators with hands-on experience in operating machinery and managing materials within a busy production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing operations team in a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing facility.

About the Role:
This is a practical, hands-on role ideal for someone experienced in operating paper slitting machinery, running automated packing lines, and managing warehouse inventory. The role will also involve stock picking and returns, general packing duties, and forklift driving. You will play a vital role in ensuring production flows efficiently and safely while meeting performance, quality, and safety targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate paper slitting machinery with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Run and maintain automated packing lines, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted production
  • Pick and return materials from stock in line with production requirements
  • Perform inventory control tasks, including stock checks and material movements
  • Pack finished products securely and efficiently, ready for distribution
  • Operate fork-lift trucks to transport materials within the factory (license preferred)
  • Support a safety-first culture and adhere to site safety procedures at all times
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet daily targets
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives

The person

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or process-driven production environment
  • Familiarity with automated systems, packing, and inventory management
  • Valid forklift truck licence
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory and system tracking
  • Safety-conscious mindset with a proactive approach to workplace safety
  • A reliable, flexible attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality results

Hours:

40 hours per week, working on a 12-hour shift pattern
