Job summary

Northwood is seeking an experienced Production Operative to join our Royton, Oldham site on rotating shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am). You will run high-speed machinery, perform quality and safety checks, and help maintain equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and high standards. Full training will be provided; previous FMCG or machine operator experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing or production, or as a machine operator in an FMCG environment is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operating and monitoring machinery to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Conducting regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Undertaking routine maintenance and cleaning of the machinery.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials.
• Adhering to quality, health, and safety procedures and regulations.
• Keeping accurate records of production output and downtime and working as a team to reach output targets.
• Carrying out pre-use machinery checks, identifying any issues or faults.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to high standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Excellent attendance and timekeeping
