Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is recruiting for a Production Operative in Dover for a large manufacturing site. You will work at the end of the production line, removing products from the conveyor, counting and stacking onto pallets, and performing quality checks.

The role runs on a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, 5:45pm–6:15am, with pay at £14.62 per hour and overtime at £17.54 per hour. Own transport is required; training will help you progress to higher pay rates, with PPE provided and free parking.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical manual work and stand for extended periods.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment and high temperatures.
• Driver's licence and access to a vehicle required for location.

Responsibilities

• Unload products from conveyor and stack onto pallets with careful handling.
• Count sheets on pallets and log quality checks in the system.
• Learn to operate overhead cranes and counterbalance forklift to move pallets.
• Carry out thorough quality checks on machinery and handheld tools.

Job description

Job Title: Production Operative

Location: Dover (own transport is required)

Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £14.62 per hour

Overtime rates: £17.54 per hour

Working Hours: 4 on / 4 off, 5:45pm-6:15am.

Role Overview: I'm looking for hard working candidates who would like to work for a large manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Working at the end of the production line, taking products of the conveyor belt and stacking onto pallets. Products can be 1.2-2m wide and 2.5-4m long and weight between 11kg-40kg.
• You will need to count the sheets stacked onto the pallets and conduct quality checks and log your findings onto the system.
• Progress and learn how to operate overhead cranes and counterbalance forklift to move pallets within the factory.
• Learn how to conduct thorough quality checks, machinery and handheld tools.
