Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to work in our Lamb/Beef section in our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full time, permanent position working 5.30am to when production finishes, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of £11.94 per hour.

Role Purpose

To work in our Lamb / Beef slaughter area which will involve the preparation of the meat. Work may include specialised slaughtering tasks and trimming offal to required specification amongst other things.

Role Requirements

  • Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.
  • Clean materials to prepare them for production.
  • Process animal carcasses.
  • Eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.
  • Trim, clean, or cure animal hides.
  • Skin sections of animals or whole animals.
  • Remove offal and prep ready for further processing.
  • Prepare meat products for sale or consumption.
  • Dress carcasses to correct spec.
  • Remove feet, ears and horns.
  • Complete general tasks within the abattoir.
