Inspection Operative

Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Hourly Rate: £11.68 - £13.60
Number of Positions Available: 2

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - rotating shift pattern - 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm plus shift premium

Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for engineering? Our client, a leader in the electrical manufacturing industry, is seeking two Inspection Operatives to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to quality assurance processes in a professional environment while receiving full training.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough inspections of components to ensure conformity with engineering drawings and specifications.
  2. Manage incoming inspection and metrology activities, ensuring the safety of yourself and others in the working area.
  3. Develop and enhance standard inspection protocols to meet quality management standards.
  4. Qualify equipment systems through Gauge R&R.
  5. Utilise best available techniques and tools to optimise inspection methodologies.
  6. Collaborate with production and quality engineers to address any quality issues related to component metrology.
  7. Oversee the calibration programme for measurement equipment used within the plant.

What We're Looking For:
  1. Demonstrable interest in an engineering discipline.
  2. Proficient in PC use, particularly with Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
  3. Strong ability to work efficiently and accurately, meeting deadlines consistently.
  4. Practical science or engineering skills are a plus.
  5. Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and literacy skills.
  6. High level of flexibility and dependability, with a strong motivation to learn.
  7. A good record of attendance.
