Job summary

BWC Profiles Ltd is seeking a day shift CNC operator to join our UK production team. You will proficiently operate a 4-axis profile machine centre to fabricate features in aluminium and plastic up to 8m long, and create finished components for delivery to a wide range of markets.

You will also assist with cutting long material on a modern mitre saw, inspect and pack for despatch, and work as an integral part of the day shift in a fast-paced fabrication area.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years CNC machining experience.
• Able to interpret technical drawings.
• Familiar with factory management systems and CNC programming software.

Responsibilities

• Operate 4-axis profile machine centre to fabricate features in extruded aluminium and plastic up to 8m long.
• Create finished components for delivery to multiple markets.
• Assist with cutting long material on a semi-automatic mitre saw and machine lengths as required; inspect and pack for despatch or next stage.
• Day shift operator integral to production.

What you will doing:

Proficiently operate 4-axis profile machine centre to fabricate features such as slots/pockets/taps/holes into lengths of extruded aluminium and plastic extrusion up to 8m long

Creating finished components for delivery to a wide range of markets

Assist with cutting long length material on a modern semi-automatic mitre saw, machining the lengths as required in our existing machine centre. Inspecting and packing for despatch or next stage in production process

As day shift operator you will form an integral part of the operation

What we are looking for

You will work largely independently on your tasks in the fabrication area and therefore need to be comfortable working along and a good problem solver

You must have an eye for detail, accuracy is a very important aspect of what we do.

Previous experience of CNC machining and use of metal/plastic fabrication machinery is critical (At least 2 years)

You must be able to interpret technical drawings

Familiar with factory management systems and CNC programming software and procedures

Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and face to face

Basic computer skills

What we offer

This role is based at our Head Office in Crownhill and is a 4 day working week

1 hour of unpaid breaks split across your shift

16 days holiday plus bank holidays rising by 1 day for each full year service up to 5 years

Pay: £29,719.40 per year
