Job summary

Stonegate Farmers Ltd in Lacock, Wiltshire, is seeking a Production Operative at its Egg Innovation Centre. You will carry out production and packing tasks, ensuring products meet quality and safety specifications, and support line changes and product changeovers.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
• Availability for 4-on 4-off shift pattern and 06:00–18:00 shifts.
• Previous experience in production/manufacturing or food production environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out production and packing activities meeting quality and safety specs.
• Follow production procedures, hygiene and traceability checks.
• Operate in line with health & safety and food safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic working environment.
• Support different production areas including setup, packing, line changes and changes.
• Identify issues affecting quality, safety, or efficiency.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and continuous improvement.
• Complete other duties as required by team leaders or supervisors.

Working Hours: 06.00am - 18.00pm, 4on4off

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK.

As a Production Operative, you’ll play an important part in ensuring our products are produced, handled and packed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Carry out a range of production and packing activities, ensuring products meet required quality, safety and customer specifications.
• Follow all production procedures and controls, including food safety, hygiene, traceability and quality checks, supporting compliance with BRC and customer standards.
• Operate within relevant Health & Safety and food safety requirements at all times.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic working environment, following our clean as you go approach and keeping work areas organised and free from hazards.
• Work closely with colleagues, Team Leaders and Supervisors to maintain a smooth and efficient production process.
• Support across different areas of production when required, including production set-up, packing, line changes and product changeovers.
• Identify and report any issues that could affect product quality, food safety, health & safety or production efficiency.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support opportunities to improve the way we work.
• Complete any other reasonable duties required by Team Leaders, Supervisors or other authorised colleagues to support operational requirements.
