Job description

A leading manufacturer in Thame, Oxfordshire, is looking for an experienced Production Operative to join a growing, established team due to company expansion. This is a permanent position.

The working hours are 6am - 2.30pm, Monday to Thursday, and 5 hours on Friday from 6am to 11am. The salary offered is £24,743 per year.

Applicants should have previous experience in production, product assembly, wiring & testing, machinery operation, and moving and lifting boxes. A strong work history, stability, and a desire for a new challenge are essential. Candidates must be able to multitask, work from drawings with more experience, and possess problem-solving skills to identify root causes and suggest solutions.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Working in component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring, and testing as required to meet delivery deadlines.
  2. Carrying out component manufacturing and product assembly according to build instructions, drawings, BOMs, or related documents.
  3. Ensuring all activities meet quality standards and other applicable standards.
  4. Setting up manufacturing equipment, including EHRT, plating lines, and power presses, to ensure efficient operation.
  5. Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment and adhering to safe working practices.
  6. Storing components and products tidily and with proper identification.
  7. Accurately maintaining production, product, and other relevant records.
  8. Liaising with Team Leaders to keep stock levels updated.
  9. Ensuring equipment operates efficiently, maximizing material, resource, and time use.
  10. Maintaining machinery and equipment according to TPM programs.
  11. Reporting any plant or equipment issues to the Production Manager.
  12. Participating in team working and continuous improvement initiatives.
  13. Providing suggestions to improve efficiency and safety in production areas and equipment.
  14. Raising awareness of manufacturing problems and collaborating to find effective solutions.

The company offers a salary of £24,743 per year plus excellent benefits, including 25 days holiday, healthcare, pension, life assurance, and parking. The standard workweek is 37 hours.
