Job description

Our client manufactures and sells all components for metal roofing and cladding including roof and wall profiles, standard and bespoke flashings, architectural fabrications, gutters, louvres, structural sections and all the necessary accessories.

Their production capacity includes the roll forming of metal roof and wall profiles and the manufacture of bespoke flashings and fabrications to a customer's design in a variety of metals including Aluminium.

They are currently looking to recruit a Production Operative to join their busy team immediately. Carrying out labouring production and machine operating duties. This will be on an ongoing basis at their premises in St. Ives. You must be available immediately as this position is for an immediate start.

Training is given, but you must be able to pick things up very quickly and be able to work using your own initiative, whether individually or as part of a team.

Duties to include:

1. Machine Operation
2. Labelling
3. Assisting machine supervisor
4. Labouring
5. Loading of Metal onto machines
6. Other material Handling
7. Basic Sheet metal work
8. Folding metal on machines (training given)
9. General maintenance
10. Maintaining, cleaning & keeping tidy, safe workspace and environment
11. Adherence to health and safety procedures
12. Any other reasonable request by relevant Supervisor

Candidate requirements:

1. Be available immediately to start with no notice period.
2. Physically fit
3. Have a flexible adaptable attitude and be willing to get stuck in with any task.
4. Willing to work in a pair and therefore have good communication skills.
5. Brake press experience would be advantageous but not essential as training is given.
6. You must have your own Steel Toe Capped Safety Boots to be considered to work here.
