Job summary

ForFarmers Group in Portbury, UK is seeking a Production Operative who reports to the Production Manager/Shift Supervisor to ensure efficient out-loading, align with the confirmed plan, and maximise finished product bin space utilisation in line with UFAS.

You will carry out warehousing and mill duties, pack tote bags, unload/load lorries, manage premix stock, ensure BOL issues are resolved, and keep the warehouse and BOL clean and compliant during day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Wagon Loading & Scheduling – Ensure timely and accurate loading of wagons, checking vehicle readiness and cleanliness.
• Communication – Report issues and collaborate with colleagues and departments to meet the plan.
• Health, Safety & Environment – Maintain high H&S standards and ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 14001/50001.
• Product Quality & Compliance – Ensure all loaded feed meets company and UFAS standards, and drivers comply with requirements.
• Vehicle & Equipment Operations – Safely move HGVs, operate loading equipment, and manage yard loading space.
• Material Handling & Stock Management – Sample raw materials, conduct bin surveys, manage stock rotation, and maintain storage areas.
• Site Cleanliness & Organisation – Maintain warehouse cleanliness, restock dispensary, and oversee CLR remix tipping.

Summary

The Production Operative reports directly to the Production Manager/Shift supervisor and is to ensure that the out loading is done efficiently and to the confirmed plan, to ensure they operate in conjunction with shift through loading activity to achieve full utilisation of finished product bin space, in line with UFAS requirements.

Keeping in line with H&S requirements, working through colleagues, they will act as a quality auditor at bulk out loading, additionally they will perform warehousing and mill duties as part of the role which include packing tote bags, unloading and loading of lorries in and out of the warehouse, stock control of premix, & looking after any BOL issues during the day. Ensuring the warehouse & BOL is cleaned to a high standard during the day and night.
