Job description

Are you an experienced Production Operative? Do you consider yourself reliable, hardworking, and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Louth, Grimsby Road?

We have a fixed-term Production Operative role available covering long-term sickness, with a high likelihood of extension. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong manufacturing or machine operation experience who thrives in a shift-based environment.

Role: Production Operative Location: Louth, Grimsby Road Rate: £13.28-£19.87 per hour (depending on experience) Contract length: 3 months (with likely extension) Shift Pattern: 4-on / 4-off (x2 12hr days: 6am-6pm, x2 12hr nights: 6pm-6am, followed by 4 days off) Hours: 42 per week on average - breaks are paid

Pay & Overtime:
  • Overtime is paid at time and a half from 18:00 Friday to 06:00 Monday
  • All other overtime is paid at time and a third
  • Colleagues are paid for breaks, contributing to a full 42-hour paid week
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain production machinery, ensuring optimum performance and minimal downtime
  • Ensure health & safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards, adhering to BRC regulations
  • Follow maintenance schedules and report issues through the internal SAP system
  • Monitor product quality to meet high standards
  • Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Complete training and safety awareness documents
Essential requirements:
  • Previous experience operating machinery in a production or packaging environment
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
  • Strong communication and basic IT skills
  • Competent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Proactive, safety-conscious and a team player
Desirable requirements:
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferably BRC-accredited)
