Job summary

Princes Group in Glasgow is seeking a Production Supervisor to guide a multi-skilled production team on rotating double shifts. You will allocate tasks, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintain hygiene using a clean-as-you-go system.

You will lead Depalletiser, Filler, Packer and Palletiser operators, uphold HACCP/5S and CI practices, and support shift coverage while driving on-time, compliant output.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising production staff.

• Ability to allocate tasks and optimise shift resources.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies are followed; update as needed.
• Maintain hygiene using a clean as you go system.
• Supervise Production Operatives across roles (Depalletiser FLT, Palletiser FLT, Filler, Packer).
• Operate machinery per SOPs and engage in Safety, Health & Environment activities.
• Ensure product quality and traceability; raise non-conformities to supervisor/Quality.
• Identify ways to reduce customer complaints and improve processes.
• Provide break and holiday cover as required.
• Promote QCDSP, CI and 5S; be aware of HACCP CCPs.

Job description

This role will be on a rotating double dayshift basis. The Production Supervisor will allocate tasks and responsibilities to the production op in line with shift needs

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are adhered to in conjunction with the Health & Safety Advisor/Quality Manager and identify any required updates to immediate supervisor.
• Maintain suitable hygiene standards at all times, by operating a “clean as you go system”.
• Competent in all Production Operative positions e.g. Depalletiser FLT, Palletiser FLT, Filler Operative, Packer Operative in addition to existing responsibilities as detailed below.
• Operate all machinery in accordance with best practice standard operating procedures.
• Actively involved in all Safety, Health & Environment activities across the site.
• Ensure Quality and integrity of product produced ensuring any product produced which does not conform to the product specification is raised to the Production Supervisor and/or Quality as appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate and/or reduce customer complaints.
• Provide break cover as appropriate.
• Provide holiday cover where appropriate.
• Promote and execute QCDSP, CI and 5’s processes.
• Awareness of HACCP, in particular CCP areas.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested to meet the needs of the business.
• Responsible for cleaning main kit areas as instructed by Supervisor or Management whilst working to cleaning matrix as provided by Operations Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness of the entire site as instructed by Management.
• Be capable of running CIP’s as instructed, when fully trained.
• Undertake all required FLT duties and FLT checks.
• Ensure the continuous operation of the De-Palletiser by supplying a continuous feedstock.
• Support Goods In/Out as required by the business.
• Responsible for syrup blending and carbonation to the required standards.
• Undertake all appropriate traceability checks.
• Undertake all analytical checks on product start up, from the blend set to final product.

De-Palletiser FLT

• Undertake all required FLT duties and FLT checks.
• Ensure the continuous operation of the De-Palletiser by supplying a continuous feedstock.
• Support Goods In/Out as required by the business.

Filler Operator

• Responsible for syrup blending and carbonation to the required standards.
• Undertake all appropriate traceability checks.
• Undertake all analytical checks on product start up, from the blend set to final product.

Packer Operator

• Undertake and record all prescribed quality checks, in particular packaging colour and bar code checks where appropriate.
• Maintain all traceability records from materials used.

Palletiser FLT Operator

• Undertake and record all prescribed quality checks.
• Maintain all traceability records from materials used.
• Transfer finished goods into appropriate storage area.
• Maintain product fill levels by regular checks ensuring fill levels are recorded.
• Check for physical damage to the product.
