Overview

Are you an experienced Production Operative with a background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic assembly? Do you take pride in precision, quality, and being part of a team that produces market-leading equipment? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Burton Latimer. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, training, and the chance to be part of a highly skilled production team.

Location: Kettering
Salary: 29,243.80 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Duties
  • Assembly and fitting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components to 3.5T commercial vehicles in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Carrying out function checks and quality inspections upon completion of installations
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Completing vehicle mechanical and hydraulic installations, including wiring, panel work, and component fitting
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems during build
  • Using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power tools to complete work to a high standard
  • Following Health & Safety and Environmental policies at all times
  • Supporting continuous improvement by contributing to process improvements and efficiencies
The ideal candidate must
  • Have proven experience in engineering assembly or fitting within a manufacturing environment
  • Be confident working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Have knowledge of applying torque, fitting flow restrictors, filters, and valve banks
  • Possess good hand tool skills and experience with pneumatic/power tools
  • Be able to carry out wiring, loom preparation, splicing, termination, and crimping
  • Have the ability to work from technical drawings and schematics
  • Be safety-conscious and able to follow risk assessments and use PPE correctly
  • Be proactive, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work
