Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is hiring Production Operatives for a pet food ingredients manufacturing facility in Cheddleton, ST13. The role offers a rotating 3 on/3 off shift pattern with days and nights, totaling around 42 hours per week.

Full training is provided and there are permanent opportunities for the right candidates. You will operate plant machinery, drive forklifts (training provided), monitor processes, ensure quality, and follow health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production, processing or industrial environment.
• Forklift truck or plant operating experience is advantageous with training provided.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
• Good understanding of health & safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery and production process lines.
• Drive forklifts and other site vehicles (training provided).
• Monitor production processes and carry out basic product sampling.
• Ensure finished products meet quality specifications.
• Report equipment faults and production issues.
• Maintain general housekeeping and a clean working area.
• Use lifting equipment safely and follow safety procedures.
• Carry out confined space entries when required.
• Record information using computers and handheld devices.

Production Operative

Pay Rate: £14.01 per hour

KPI Recruiting are currently looking for Production Operatives to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Cheddleton, Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production environment with full training provided and long-term career prospects.

Working Hours

This role operates on a 3 on / 3 off rotating shift pattern, including days and nights:

• Days: 06:00 - 18:00
• Nights: 18:00 - 06:00

Average of 42 hours per week.

Please note: Candidates must be able to work both day and night shifts as part of the rota. This is a rotating shift pattern, and we are unable to accommodate applicants looking for permanent days only or permanent nights only.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Operating plant machinery and production process lines
• Driving forklifts and other site vehicles (training provided)
• Monitoring production processes and carrying out basic product sampling
• Ensuring finished products meet quality specifications
• Reporting equipment faults and production issues
• General housekeeping and maintaining a clean working area
• Using lifting equipment safely
• Carrying out confined space entries when required
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and site regulations
• Recording information using computers and handheld devices

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience within a manufacturing, production, processing or industrial environment
• Forklift truck or plant operating experience would be advantageous, although full training can be provided
• Strong attention to detail
• Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable using computers and handheld devices
• Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn new skills

Working Environment

This role is based within a pet food ingredients manufacturing facility. Due to the nature of the products being processed, there are natural manufacturing odours present within some areas of the site. We believe in being upfront about the working environment so candidates can make an informed decision before applying. The site maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and operational procedures at all times.
