Job description

A&G Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Temp-Perm Production Operative to join our well-established client in Avonmouth. In this role, you ll work in the bagging hall, overseeing machine operations, handling any breakdowns, and resolving issues as they arise.

Job Type: Temp-Perm

Immediate Start

Hourly Rate during the temporary assignment: GBP12 per hour (day and night shift), PLUS additional GBP35 per night shift

Annual Salary when permanent: GBP32,000 - GBP33,000pa (dependent on experience)

Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (12-hour shifts)

Shift Times: 05:30 AM - 06:00 PM (30 minutes break)

Location: Avonmouth (Own transport required due to location)

Due to the training, the first few weeks would be worked solely on the night shift (working 05:30 PM - 06:00 AM)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Operate computer-controlled machine panels during production processes
  • Perform mechanical adjustments to machinery as needed
  • Investigate faults and report issues to shift supervisors
  • Conduct daily housekeeping and maintenance tasks, including cleaning and greasing
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area throughout the shift
  • Inspect production regularly to ensure quality standards and minimize waste
  • Set up production lines and machinery
  • Ensure a steady supply of raw materials and packaging to machines
  • Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and wear required PPE
  • Follow risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems to ensure safe operation of machinery
  • Provide support to other departments and factories as needed
  • Load and unload materials using a forklift (training may be provided)
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisors and managers

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in production or machine operation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Physically fit to perform the duties of the role
  • FLT experience/license is preferred but not essential
