Qualifications

Job description

The Role: Production Operative

Pay rate: £17.10

Location: Coleshill Station Rd, Coleshill, Birmingham B46 1JY

Contract: Ongoing temp(Potential for perm)

To carry out the safe and efficient sorting of gas cylinders by the effective operation on a sort stand and using a 2.5 ton counter balance FLT, unloading of cylinders and banks from vehicles adding to the dedicated bays - assisting Senior Plant Operators and Facility manager on day to day yard duties, some general housekeeping will be part of the role.

The place is a COMAH site having hazards (gas, pressure, noise, cryogeny )

Working as part of a small team on day work in a fast moving environment

5 Key Requirements for the Role

Valid FLT Licence - Must have a current counterbalance forklift licence (2.5T) and experience operating FLTs safely.
Manual Handling Capability - Able to manually handle gas cylinders, pallets, and straps in a physically demanding environment.
Attention to Safety - Strong understanding and commitment to safety, particularly on a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site.
Teamwork and Flexibility - Able to work as part of a small team across shifts, showing punctuality and a flexible approach to duties.
Communication & Documentation - Good verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain records for KPI reporting accurately.

• Operate fork lift trucks and pallet trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with government and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Experience in similar process work (preferably in the chemical, mechanical or related industries) an advantage.
• Adopt a flexible approach to work to ensure the operational needs of the Company are met.
• Ensure that the premises and work surroundings are kept clean and tidy at all times and advise the supervisor of any repair work that becomes necessary.
