Job description

Production Manager / Supervisor

Location: Woking

Salary: 38-40K

We are seeking a Production Manager / Supervisor to join a specialist electronics business near Woking. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands-on manager/supervisor accustomed to leading a small team of production and assembly operatives specializing in electronics, soldering, inspection, wiring, crimping, etc.

Working primarily within the electronics industry, you should have knowledge of electromechanical assembly environments and products. This role is a progression opportunity, as the current manager is advancing within the company. You will be actively involved in supporting the assembly of electronic products shipped worldwide, managing work distribution, liaising with operations management, updating work order statuses, and communicating with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervise a team of 20+ operators
2. Distribute jobs based on the production plan
3. Monitor job timings and progress
4. Update production schedules and capacity planning
5. Hold weekly team meetings
6. Coordinate with the Production Manager daily
7. Attend production meetings and provide updates
8. Handle customer inquiries
9. Ensure adherence to IPC-620 standards (preferable)
10. Read schematic drawings and follow build sheets
11. Support packaging and dispatch processes

Qualifications and Skills:

• A-level qualification, HNC, or equivalent, or previous relevant experience
• Proven leadership skills in electronics manufacturing environment
• Experience working with high-end customers, including military clients
• Ability to analyze and improve production processes
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
