Job description

Production Manager – Presswork Manufacturing

Salary: to £40,000 - £45,000

Location: West Midlands (commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, West Bromwich, Dudley, Telford areas)

Job Purpose:

  1. Management of a high volume complex manufacturing process overseeing day-to-day operations against H&S QCD performance metrics.
  2. Develop and grow your direct reports and the team around you to build a positive and nurturing environment.
  3. Implementation and review of Standard Operating Procedures/KPIs across your department.
  4. Manage and mentor a diverse team, fostering engagement and professional growth.
  5. Driving a strong culture of Health & Safety on site.
  6. Leading and driving Continuous Improvement activities.

Experience Required:

  1. Experienced Production Manager or Operations Manager working within fast-paced volume manufacturing environment.
  2. Experience of leading teams in a high volume/large batch production pressurised automotive manufacturing environment.
  3. Detailed knowledge of metal stampings/presswork, fabrication and welded assembly manufacturing processes.
  4. Experience of coaching and mentoring an already strong team.
  5. Able to plan and organise manning, materials and production in a busy environment along with excellent management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  6. Assertive, independent and self-sufficient with the ability to cope effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  7. Ability to drive performance against KPIs.
  8. Management or supervisory qualifications; ILM, NVQ4, HNC, Degree.
  9. Time served / BTEC Mechanical Engineering and lean/sigma training highly desirable.
