Job Description:

Technical Network has been retained by an established SME manufacturer to source an experienced Production Manager. Responsible for one of their key production areas, this role provides a brilliant opportunity for a resilient and driven individual to make their mark on a growing UK business.

Production Manager – Presswork manufacturing

Salary: up to £40,000-45,000

Location: West Midlands (commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Walsall, West Bromwich, Dudley, Telford areas)

Job Purpose:

  • Manage a high-volume, complex manufacturing process, overseeing day-to-day operations against H&S, QCD performance metrics.
  • Develop and grow your team to build a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Implement and review Standard Operating Procedures and KPIs across your department.
  • Manage and mentor a diverse team, fostering engagement and professional growth.
  • Drive a strong culture of Health & Safety on site.
  • Lead and drive Continuous Improvement activities.

Experience required:

  • Experienced Production or Operations Manager in fast-paced volume manufacturing, seeking career growth.
  • Experience leading teams in high-volume automotive presswork, metal stamping, fabrication, or welded assembly manufacturing.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and management skills.
  • Assertive, independent, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to drive performance against KPIs.
  • Management or supervisory qualifications (ILM, NVQ4, HNC, Degree); time served/BTEC Mechanical Engineering and lean/sigma training are highly desirable.
