Experienced and proactive Production Manager required to complement a professional senior management team and be tasked with the overall management of the entire manufacturing production process and team.

Our client has been established for almost half a century and are recognised as the UK’s market leader in the design, manufacture and service of standard and bespoke recycling and waste management special purpose machinery for supply throughout the UK. Due to continued success and ongoing strategic growth, they are seeking to recruit an experienced and proactive Production Manager to join their professional senior management team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will oversee the entire manufacturing production process and team, working with a team of 30+ employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations, maintain a safe workplace, and meet manufacturing lead times.

Core duties include:

1. Implementing and maintaining Health and Safety standards, ensuring all employees comply with relevant industry guidelines.
2. Reducing expenses and increasing productivity continuously.
3. Setting ambitious production goals, communicating these to key personnel, and ensuring products meet quality standards and customer expectations.
4. Applying Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement in design and technology.
5. Implementing and maintaining Kanban and Kaizen management systems.
6. Controlling production with KPI reporting and ownership of the Production department.
7. Providing leadership, motivation, support, mentoring, and guidance to all employees as a confident and approachable leader.
8. Maintaining all production-related documentation.
9. Problem-solving on the shop floor, efficient materials planning, job scheduling, and adopting a fast “make to order” production strategy.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, dynamic, and self-motivated Production Manager with shop floor management experience who wishes to stay hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, leveraging knowledge of costings, build times, and work-in-progress rules to ensure high customer satisfaction and profitable production levels.
