Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a production management role, preferably within manufacturing or timber-related industries.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid understanding of production planning, workflow optimisation, and team coordination.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and quality assurance practices.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • IT-literate and capable of using production/reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full afternoon shift production operations, ensuring output targets are achieved.
  • Lead, mentor, and support shift supervisors and team leaders to maintain performance and engagement.
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
  • Monitor production KPIs and implement actions for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with planning, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Identify training needs and support staff development.
  • Manage resources, staffing levels, and production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
  • Carry out regular performance reviews, toolbox talks, and team briefings.
  • Ensure that production equipment is maintained and any issues are reported/escalated promptly.
  • Provide shift reports and updates to the senior management team.

Location: Coalville

Pay Rate/Salary: 44.5K to 50K per year

Hours: Monday to Thursday 14:00-22:30 and Friday 14:00-20:00
