Job summary

E3recruitment is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead operations at a Bradford chemical production site on an interim basis. The role combines hands-on leadership with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and in line with company standards.

You will manage the operations team, coordinate with engineering and technical colleagues, and drive cost control, process improvements and regulatory compliance across the site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and site activities.
• Lead, manage and develop the Operations team with clear direction.
• Ensure production and engineering activities are efficient with cost control.
• Lead resolution of production and engineering issues, including non-standard operations.
• Ensure site meets quality, health and safety, environmental and people requirements.
• Maintain ISO quality compliance with the SHEQ Manager.
• Monitor output and product quality; implement corrective actions.
• Promote health and safety across the site with SHE Manager.
• Manage repairs, equipment renewals and contractor spend.
• Collaborate with Technical Department, including the Research & Applications Manager.
• Support business priorities by responding to operational requirements and contributing to board projects.

Manufacturing Manager – Interim (OUTSIDE IR35)

Location: Bradford
Hourly Rate: £50 – £60 Per Hour (Outside IR35)
Contract: Interim
Hours: standard, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity:

We’re seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Manager to take ownership of manufacturing operations at an established chemical production site in Bradford.

This is a hands‑on leadership position suited to someone who combines strong operational expertise with a genuine ability to lead people. You’ll be responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance and overall site effectiveness.

Working closely with teams across the business, you’ll have an important role in maintaining high operational standards and supporting the site’s continued development.

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager:

• Take overall responsibility for day‑to‑day manufacturing operations and the smooth running of site activities.
• Lead, manage and develop the Operations team, providing clear direction and practical support.
• Ensure production and engineering activities are delivered efficiently and with effective cost control.
• Take the lead on resolving production and engineering issues, including the coordination of unusual or non‑standard operations.
• Ensure the site consistently meets company requirements and relevant legislation covering quality, health and safety, environmental performance and people.
• Maintain compliance with applicable ISO quality standards, working in partnership with the SHEQ Manager.
• Monitor manufacturing output and product quality, introducing corrective actions and improvement initiatives where necessary.
• Champion operational health and safety across the site, working closely with the SHE Manager.
• Manage expenditure associated with repairs, equipment renewals and external contractors.
• Work collaboratively with the Technical Department, including the Research & Applications Manager, when required.
• Support business priorities by responding to operational requirements and contributing to projects assigned by the Board.
