This role is pivotal, working closely with the VFX Producer/Assoc Producer on projects, stepping in to support Producer/Assoc Producer duties as required, and maintaining direct communication with the VFX Producer/Assoc Producer and/or Executive Producer on all aspects of the show. The Production Manager reports to the VFX Show Producer/Assoc Producer daily for show-specific tasks.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Collaborate with the Producer/Assoc Producer and Supervisors to develop an overall show asset and shot schedule across all disciplines, utilising both internal resources and external vendors.
  2. Oversee schedule implementation by guiding and directing Line Producers, supervisors, and leads, following ILM’s best practices for scheduling.
  3. Manage the production crew daily, including directing Coordinators and Production Assistants to ensure all show needs are met.
  4. Act as the default leader when the Producer/Assoc Producer is out of the office or otherwise engaged.
  5. Serve as the liaison with vendors for technical and creative issues to ensure work remains on schedule and optimal workflows are maintained.
  6. Proactively identify and plan work to be outsourced, prepare vendor bidding packages, and contribute to vendor cost analysis and weekly cost reporting.
  7. In partnership with the Producer/Assoc Producer, check the Estimated Final Cost (EFC) to ensure the work is on budget.
  8. Run bid meetings as needed; budgeting responsibilities may vary at the Producer/Assoc Producers discretion.
  9. Manage client contact when the Producer/Assoc Producer is unavailable.
  10. Participate in special projects as requested.
  11. Work on the same schedule as first or second unit production as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Proven professional experience in film or episodic, with a strong working knowledge of visual effects crewing, scheduling, techniques, and terminology.
  2. Proven Line Producing experience across sequence and full show scheduling.
  3. Proficiency with Macs/PCs and Google Suite.
  4. Working knowledge of Linux is a plus.
  5. Strong scheduling experience is essential.
  6. Proven experience of Shotgrid is essential.
