Job summary

The Operations Manager will establish KPI frameworks, ensure health and safety adherence, define quality standards, and drive efficiency while developing personnel and creating a productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up a series of KPIs to understand current performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People).
• Manage Health & Safety to meet standards and ensure team awareness and capability.
• Define and communicate standards (SOPs, QMS) and measure non-conformances to improve quality.
• Plan and manage cost by estimating times, quoting work, and operating within a budget.
• Organise capacity to meet demand and measure delivery performance.
• Develop people through regular reviews and provide a positive, productive work environment.

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager who is from an engineering background:

Objective: Manage the operation to make product:

• Right First Time.

• Cost Effectively.

This does not include purchasing and supply chain activities

To do this the Ops Mngr will need to:

1. Set up a series of KPIs - to understand how well they are currently performing. Key measures will include: Safety; Quality; Cost; Delivery; People
2. Manage Health & Safety - understand how they need to comply with H&S standards and ensure all know what's required of them to meet these standards and have the necessary, skills and equipment to do so.
3. Manage Quality:
   1. Have identified the standards of work, product, service the Operation needs to perform at
   2. Have ensured these standards are clearly communicated and understood by all (SOPs, QMS etc)
   3. Be measuring issues of non-conformance
   4. Be improving quality
4. Manage Cost:
   1. Have agreed times (or estimates) for how long things will take
   2. Ensure times / estimates are used in quotations for work
   3. Operate within a budget
   4. Organises operational capacity to meet demand cost effectively - in line with agreed times / estimates.
