Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods Poultry in the UK is seeking a proactive manager to lead the department, improve throughput and coordinate Low Risk operations including cooking, cooling and packing. Responsibilities

• Apply Health & Safety legislation and company procedures to promote safe work practices.
• Apply Food Safety legislation and company policies across manufacturing processes.
• Ensure product knowledge and process understanding to balance quality with yield.
• Monitor plan attainment and deliver projects on time.
• Foster open communication and employee involvement in a safety-first culture.
• Ensure pre-start checks are conducted and defects are addressed promptly.

Cranswick Country Foods Poultry is a specialty producer of delicious, cooked poultry ingredients and is a leading innovator in the industry. We create exciting, original products that meet the needs of today's busy consumers.

Main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management of the department, to consistently improve the departmental throughput and performance by facilitating all of the tasks relating to the successful organisation . Be responsible for the management and coordination of Low Risk operations including, cooking, cooling and packing.

Main Responsibilities:

• To be fully responsible for maintaining a safe, harmonious and productive working environment within the geographical boundaries and budgetary targets
• To establish, lead, inspire and develop a successful team to consistently deliver the 'balanced scorecard' of daily operational objectives that meet or exceed business and customer expectations using the principles of Safety,Quality, Delivery, Cost & People template
• To understand and actively apply the principles of current H&S Legislation and Company procedure ensuring compliance and promoting safe working practices at all times through the proactive application of the various accident prevention mechanisms at your disposal
• To understand and actively apply the principles of current Food Safety Legislation and Company policies to all aspects of the manufacturing process
• To maintain a thorough understanding of relevant product, processes & specifications ensuring consistency of application in order to strike the right balance between matching agreed quality standards and maximising yield opportunity
• To be fully aware of agreed business targets- customer service levels and quality measures and to ensure that Plan Attainment facilitates this KPI
• To monitor and to deliver on time against periodic project-based timescales
• To maintain a safe and industrious work environment throughout the department that fosters collaborative employee involvement encouraging ideas and participation whilst ensuring employee compliance to the company's procedural expectations
• Promote open communication in a 'safe environment' encouraging employee involvement at all levels
• To ensure all Pre-start checks are conducted and recorded routinely and that any defects arising elicit a prompt and appropriate response
