Job summary

ST TALENT is recruiting for a Production Manager on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Burnley. The role oversees CNC machining operations, manages the workshop and drawing office, and drives continuous improvement while delivering on time and to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have CNC machining experience, proven leadership capabilities, and CAD skills, with a proactive mindset to improve processes and lead a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a CNC machining environment.
• Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of 4 and/or 5-axis machining is advantageous.
• CAD knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee manufacturing operations across workshop and drawing office to meet production targets, quality standards and customer lead times.
• Lead and develop a manufacturing team to drive performance.
• Plan capacity for bespoke and batch production, and improve processes.
• Establish and monitor production KPIs and schedules to support growth.
• Ensure health & safety compliance across the site and collaborate with senior management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Leader or Manufacturing Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As Production Manager, you will oversee manufacturing operations across the workshop and drawing office, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer lead times are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily production activities within a CNC machining environment
• Leading and developing a manufacturing team
• Capacity planning for both bespoke and batch production work
• Establishing and improving manufacturing processes
• Implementing and monitoring production KPIs
• Managing production schedules and customer lead timesDriving continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintaining quality standards and inspection procedures
• Supporting the development of designs through CAD systems
• Ensuring Health & Safety compliance across the site
• Working closely with senior management to support business growth plans

About You

The ideal Production Manager will have experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment and possess strong leadership skills.

You will ideally have:

• Experience working within a CNC machining environment
• Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience
• Knowledge of 4 and/or 5-axis machining
• CAD knowledge and experience
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
• Excellent communication and team management abilities
