Job summary

Stirling Warrington is seeking an experienced CNC Manager in the UK with strong leadership in precision machining. Based near Nottingham, the role oversees CNC milling, turning and multi-axis operations, drives continuous improvement and delivers complex projects within a high-precision environment.

You will lead production teams, optimise processes, manage safety, quality, cost targets and collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading CNC machining operations in a precision environment.
• Strong knowledge of milling, turning and multi-axis machining.
• Experienced in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
• Proven people management with ability to develop high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day workshop and production operations within a precision machining environment
• Drive production performance, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are consistently achieved
• Oversee CNC machining operations including milling, turning and multi-axis machining
• Support new product introduction and process development from concept through to production
• Develop machining strategies, tooling selection and fixture design to improve productivity and efficiency
• Lead Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the production department
• Manage production planning, resource allocation and operational performance
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Supply Chain to deliver business objectives
• Lead, coach and develop production teams, creating a positive and high-performing culture
• Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Workshop Manager role within precision engineering
• Strong background in CNC machining with hands-on knowledge of milling, turning and multi-axis machining
• Excellent understanding of tooling, fixture design, machining strategies and process optimisation
• Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and production process development
• Proven people management experience with the ability to motivate, develop and lead high-performing teams
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Green Belt or Lean Leader certification would be advantageous

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a global leader in advanced materials and high-performance engineered components. With over 15 manufacturing sites worldwide and annual revenues exceeding £400 million, the business supplies precision-engineered products into the aerospace, defence, semiconductor, energy and industrial sectors
