Job summary

DR Newitt & Associates in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead a fast-paced FMCG site for a 6‑month FTC. You will drive safety, quality and output, and develop the shift team to meet seasonal demand.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong planning, and a proven track record in food manufacturing. You’ll work across AM/PM shifts to deliver continuous improvement on site.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in leading production or operations teams within food manufacturing.
• Strong organisational, decision‑making, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and inspire.
• Knowledge of food production processes, safety compliance, and efficiency best practices.
• Proficient in SAP or other ERP systems.
• Familiarity with LEAN principles and problem‑solving methodologies.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Lead and inspire the production team to deliver daily planned output with maximum efficiency.
• Plan and allocate workloads to meet production schedules while upholding a strong safety-first culture.
• Ensure compliance with all quality regulations and standards.
• Drive people performance through clear communication, regular briefings, and effective coaching.
• Identify root causes of production issues and implement lasting solutions.
• Collaborate closely with other site functions to maintain smooth workflows.
• Manage workforce planning, recruitment, training, and SOP sign-off.

A leading large-scale food manufacturer is seeking a hands‑on Production Manager to lead operations, inspire teams, and ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production across the site. This is a 6‑month FTC to support the run up to Christmas!
