Reed Specialist Recruitment has an exciting opportunity in Bristol Area for a Lead Operative within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a production line, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency targets are met while developing the team.

The role is perm, with a 4-day working week and the opportunity to progress alongside a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG production.
• Experience leading a team or coordinating production activities.
• Good understanding of production KPIs and efficiency targets.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making.
• Good knowledge of health & safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operation of a food production line.
• Drive productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
• Support, coach and train production team members.
• Operate and monitor production machinery.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate where required.
• Report downtime, breakdowns and production concerns accurately.
• Ensure production targets and performance standards are achieved.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, quality and housekeeping.
• Follow and promote all health & safety procedures.
• Plan workloads effectively and support daily production requirements.
• Provide clear communication and direction to operatives on shift.
• Work closely with colleagues and management to ensure smooth operations.

Lead Operative

Location: Bristol Area

Salary: £32,000 to £34,900 per year following successful completion of probation (plus applicable shift allowance)

Contract: Perm

Shifts: Monday to Thursday

We are recruiting for a Lead Operative to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business. Working within production, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a production line, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency targets are achieved while supporting and developing the wider team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Operative, Senior Operative, Line Leader or Team Leader looking to take the next step in their career.
